****A ton of feed normally costs us $340.00 and we buy a ton a week.
We can always use halters and leads for our drafts and other rescues. Used is fine with us if available!
Winter blankets are a necessity with the rescued horses during the cold winter months. All sizes appreciated.
Minerals and supplements as needed and will list them as they become a need.
Corner feeders and flatbacked buckets can always be used. Horses do tend to be rather rough on them!
And last but not least --- individuals who share our love of horses, to spend time with them once they arrive at Drafty Barn Rescue. We welcome newcomers and volunteers at anytime.

Being a not for profit equine rescue, there is always a need for donations. Donations come in many forms and all are appreciated.
We are in NEED of round and square baled hay to get us through the long Ohio winter. The crops we usually put up for the horses, were less than adequate due to the wet summer. We can purchase good quality square baled horse quality hay for $3.00 per bale delivered and stacked in the barn. Round bales are running us $30.00 a piece for 1500 lb bales, delivered.

Blanket request: Ohio winters can be brutal and ours is soon to be here.
We are in need of donated new/used blankets for the horses of DBFR.
If you have an old one that you are no longer using, please consider donating it to a Drafty Barn horse today. He/she will be forever grateful to be snuggly and warm when the temps are cold and the snow is flying.
Even those in need of repair are welcomed as we can do the repair work ourselves to save money.
ALL sizes are needed as we have a variety of different sized horses here at all times.

Looking to earn your Equine Angel Wings?
If so, you're in the right place. By sponsoring one of our many horses in need, you will be earning your Angel Wings
Becoming an Equine Angel means you assist us by sponsoring of one of the many horses at our facility. Whether waiting on a home or one that will be required to stay with us for lifetime care or one who has become a part of our ride a rescue program. There are several ways this can be done. If you sponsor a horse for the entire month, you will receive pictures and updates while that horse is being sponosred by you.
***Full month ~ Full sponsorship: $125/month
covers hay, grain and bedding for one month
***Half month sponsorship: $65/month
***Medical sponsorship: As needed, although we rarely have huge vet bills.
***Routine care sponsorship: $75 every 3 months
covers worming ~ seasonal vaccinations ~ dental as needed
<>Supplements: Purchased as needed and prices vary depending on supplements being used.
*We have several older resident horses that use a lot of supplements to keep them healthy.
